Whiteland Double Header Weekend IKC#7

On Sunday of the double header I felt good going into it. I had raced this layout for the SIRA race. In my 206 I was 4th fastest out of 13. I qualified 5th. During the heat race I was caught up in a first lap crash. A Top-Kart driver spun and my teammate Lucian hit him. I went left to try to avoid their crash, but I didn’t have anywhere to go since we were only in the 2nd turn. I went over the left side of Lucian’s kart and damaged my front bumper. I was able to make it around to the pit lane however the damage was so great, I could not steer and got a DNF.

For the final, I had to start from the rear again. I had to drive thru the field again and finished 5th. My kart was fast and my driving was on point. I just needed to start up front to get an even better finish.

In my KA I qualified 8th and also finished 8th in my heat race. I am still struggling to find the needed speed to start up front in this kart. For the final, I drove my butt off. It was probably the best I had ever driven in this kart. I was able to get up to third position on the final lap. Unfortunately, I got a tire off track just a smidge and Landon Buher caught up and passed me with only a few turns left in the race. I finished 4th out of 9. I am super proud of myself for this race and looking forward to carrying on the momentum!
